CGI was founded by Gidi Cohen and Adrian Goldstein with a vision to create a collective of freethinkers and innovators that deliver boutique-living solutions that are beautiful, functional and inspiring to the people that live in them and enrich the communities they serve.
Gidi Cohen has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, with skills and expertise in the acquisition, disposition, syndication, and development in a variety of industries. Launching his career, Cohen founded Cohen & Associates in 2006, growing the small firm into a prominent real estate investment and management firm. Betting on his innovative spirit and passion for real estate, Cohen formed CGI Strategies in Real Estate in 2013, a development and investment management company with a national perspective in commercial and multi-family properties. Now, with the current CGI portfolio mix, Cohen prioritizes exciting and unique living environments for the communities CGI serves and generates with exceptional investor returns.
Zion Perets joined CGI in 2012 and currently serves as CGI’s Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partner. Perets oversees the financial, accounting and portfolio affairs of CGI and contributes to the development of the company’s strategic goals. Prior to joining CGI, Perets served as the Director of Finance at one of Israel’s largest insurance companies. Perets received his bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from Tel Aviv University, a Master of Law degree from UCLA School of Law, and an MBA from the Coller School of Management at Tel Aviv University. He is also a lawyer in Israel.
Michael Wilson, raised in Los Angeles, is General Counsel for CGI handling all transaction processes, tenant issues, entity and deal structures, risk management, insurance, lawsuit and claims and general support to all departments. Prior to his time at CGI, Wilson was real estate defense attorney and utilized his real estate broker’s license, allowing for him to build practical experience in risk management and real estate transactions. Michael Wilson has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management along with his Juris Doctor degree.
An accomplished hospitality expert with nearly 20 years of experience, Kasia Mays ensures customer satisfaction for all clients and is focused on luxury and elevated design to shape CGI’s community and make it a best-in-class residential experience. As COO, Mays oversees marketing and public relations, human resources, information technology and most importantly, CGI’s culture, mission, brand, vision and values. Driven by a strong sense of purpose, Mays’s unconditional passion, creative palette and drive brings extraordinary value to the CGI leadership team.
Mark Cohen, from Milton, GA, has been with Gidi Cohen and CGI from the start. Originally the Director of Acquisitions and Financing for Cohen & Associates, Cohen has brought his talent and skills for sourcing, underwriting, and managing construction and commercial real estate loans to CGI. With his unparalleled ability to find and analyze real estate investment opportunities, Cohen leads the Southeast Region for CGI as Managing Partner. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.
Sterling Gutting, a Georgia native, joined CGI Strategies in the Fall of 2020 as an Acquisitions Associate. Gutting specializes in Multifamily assets throughout the Southeast and is responsible for finding, valuing and analyzing the surrounding market conditions of a property. Prior to his role with CGI, Gutting worked with a brokerage firm underwriting properties and assisting brokers in building compelling stories to assist in selling assets. His ability to think outside the box and look for the strongest aspects of a property allows him to excel in his role. Gutting holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida State University. He enjoys playing music (piano and guitar) and exploring the outdoors.
Andre Soroudi oversees acquisitions for the West Coast. He is primarily focused on sourcing, analyzing, underwriting, negotiating and executing transactions. Previously, Andre was with G.H. Palmer Associates where he worked on the acquisition and development of over 3,000 apartment units in Southern California with total development budgets exceeding $750 million. He is a triple graduate of the University of Southern California with an MBA, MRED and BA in Business Administration.
Justin Ruder joined CGI strategies in 2020 as an Acquisitions and Development Associate. Ruder specializes in ground up development projects and is responsible for sourcing, analyzing and underwriting while working with the Director of Acquisitions to oversee the entitlement process. Prior to his role with CGI, Ruder worked as a commercial land broker specializing in the sales and acquisition of commercial properties. His experience in the commercial development space, work ethic and thirst for knowledge makes Ruder a true powerhouse member of the team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Wisconsin. In his free time, you’ll find him exploring the great outdoors or cheering on the Dodgers and Lakers.
Michael DiSimone, born and raised in Los Angeles, is the Director of Acquisitions for CGI and is responsible for acquiring multifamily properties throughout the western United States. Leveraging several years’ experience in multifamily and land acquisition, renovations and design, asset management, accounting and law, DiSimone’s addition to the team has been well-received. He received his undergraduate and masters degrees from San Diego State University and his JD and LL.M. from Golden Gate School of Law. In his spare time, DiSimone enjoys sailing, surfing, reading and spending time with his family.
Mario Lopez, raised in Los Angeles, hails from a top general contracting firm in the nation and Southern California, and with experience from real estate investment and development firms with in-house construction management, Lopez builds value for CGI in the Los Angeles multifamily market with his expertise. Growing CGI’s professional network, Lopez is focused on bringing new partners to quality, sustainable real estate design and construction. Lopez received his Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning with a Minor in Real Property Development from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA
Michael Shenassa, raised in Los Angeles, is the Head of Investor Relations for CGI overseeing fundraising and relationships with investors. Previously the Director of Acquisitions, Shenassa led the acquisition of several CGI properties and has extensive knowledge in consulting and technology. He attended University of Southern California to receive his Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Finance and Information Systems, MBA and MRED. His hobbies include volunteering for nonprofits, water sports, martial arts and enjoying the great outdoors.
Jared Roberts joined CGI Strategies in 2020 to serve as the Manager of Capital Markets, managing all stages of sales and integral investor relationships. Roberts is also responsible for shaping CGI’s strategy in funding, while supporting future equity financing and improvement of investor reporting and portfolio analysis tools. Prior to his time at CGI Strategies, Roberts worked in finance and acquisitions for a Los Angeles-based real estate management company. He earned both a master and bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado State University where he was also a student athlete, receiving a full football scholarship his sophomore year. In his free time, Roberts enjoys travel, golf, volunteering and exploring new restaurants.
Chris Furman is Vice President of Asset Management for CGI managing profitable conventional, hospitality and commercial assets. He focuses on lease-up properties, specifically on the rate of marketing and leasing. From previous experience, Furman has more than 15 years in the hospitality and multifamily industries and has consulted for several luxury brands, specializing in operations and finance. In his spare time, Furman volunteers on several philanthropic boards and enjoys spending time with his two adorable dogs, friends, and family. Chris Furman has his bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication and Public Relations from Northern Illinois University.
Alla Krumer, born in Ukraine, is Vice President of Accounting, Construction for CGI overseeing all construction accounting and preparation of tax returns and compliance matters. With more than 25 years’ experience, Krumer has worked in construction and accounting starting as an accounts payable clerk before quickly advancing. Prior to her time at CGI, Krumer was a Controller at Griffin Real Estate Management, helping to prepare audit and project reports and implement and maintain all software systems. Alla Krumer has her Bachelor’s in Science in Accounting from California State University of Northridge. As a teenager, Krumer wanted to become a violinist and music teacher.
Jenny Rayas, a Los Angeles native, Office Manager and Director of Operations for Bread and Salt Hospitality assists Kasia Mays with day to day operations, marketing and community outreach. Prior to her time at CGI, Rayas worked for Congressman Tony Cardenas, working on multiple campaigns. Her motivated mentality, passion and time management skills brings exceptional value to the office and CGI team.
Adrian Goldstein is one of the forces behind CGI Strategies. His experience includes 35 years in commercial real estate, specifically institutional finance and operations. Prior to 2013 when Adrian and Gidi Cohen partnered to form CGI Strategies, Adrian was a managing partner at Gelt, Inc, a private real estate investment company and later held many successful positions with the Greenwich Group International LLC and Weston Communities. Adrian and his wife Deborah are bi-coastal living in Calabasas, CA and Lawrence, NY. They have raised five children who are now adults living successful lives with careers in accounting, law, banking and health care.
Roni is a founding member of CGI. He oversees international investor relations and has an important voice in all aspects of deal execution. Roni’s experience in real estate investments exceeds 15 years and has gained him an innate understanding of what investors want and how to deliver it. Prior to joining CGI, Roni founded Big Baby Inc., an innovative accessory designer and manufacturer. Roni is an avid fútbol aficionado, always follows the World Cup and enjoys watching and playing year-round.
